Earth Law Practice’s educational outreach spans a number of outlets and target audiences. Our social media posts offer both short updates on relevant current events and brief explanations on key topics germane to Earth Law (“Earth Law Minutes”), to more substantive longer videos, meant to fully explicate more intricate concepts, such as The Public Trust Doctrine, The Administrative State, The Progress of Rights of Nature Reform in the global arena and much more. We also produce a free podcast, “Dispatches From The Rubicon” in which we host experts in the field who delve deep into the state of Earth Law Progress, from it’s history and historical antecedents, to the progress and pitfalls of modern reform, to the interface of the science and climate change models and what and how we use the science to effect meaningful change.
Additionally, ELP offers an 12-week, asynchronous on-line course, with lectures, exercises, workshops and feedback, available to the general public and anyone interested in learning more. We also have designed a series of youth-focused programs, for both elementary-school children, and high-school Student Environmental Clubs. Finally, using the Aspen Publishing text book, “Earth Law: Emerging Ecocentric Law—A Guide for Practitioner’s” written by Anthony Zelle and others, ELP offers full-semester and compressed courses in accredited law schools, both in the U.S. the U.K. and elsewhere.
